Dumka, the Second Capital of Jharkhand is in Santhal Pargana, an under developed region of Jharkhand. Although Dumka is well connected by Bus from Ranchi, Patna, Kolkata & connected by Rail from Ranchi and Howrah, there was no Engineering College in that Region. The Govt. of Jharkhand thus established the 1st Engineering College inside Dumka Town and entrusted the trust to run the College to Techno India Group, the most respected group of the eastern India having Three Universities, 22 Engineering Colleges, Diploma Colleges, Business Schools, Hospital and so on and having more than 60,000 students and 5,00,000 alumni.  Dumka Engineering College is  recognized by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).  Dumka is one the youngest College in India and 2nd Engineering College in Jharkhand Accredited by NAAC. NAAC evaluates the institutions for its conformance to the standards of quality in terms of its performance related to the educational processes and outcomes, curriculum coverage, teaching-learning processes, faculty, research, infrastructure, learning resources, organisation, governance, financial well being and student services.

Dumka Engineering College is  recognized by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for all three applied programs, as Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Mechanical Engineering Departments.  

The engineering college is ISO 9001:2015 Certified Institute and it will provide admission to some reserve seats for students from Jharkhand and the rest will be open for students from other states.Dumka Engineering College is approved by AICTE & affilited by SKMU,Dumka and JUT,Ranchi.

At present the college is running UG engineering academic session with Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Electronics & Communications discipline of Engineering.  

Dumka Engineering College is a TEQIP-III funded Institute having the sanctioned of Fund 10 Crore from National Project Implementation Unit , MHRD, Govt. of India as 1.1 Institution. The sanctioned fund is utilized for the entire development of the technical education  towards the academic excellence of the Institution

Our Labs are modernized and Digitalised as per modern curriculum of Under graduate level B. Tech course and R & D activity through TEQIP III Fund.

Smart class rooms are established for every Department Including one Virtual Class room, which is dedicated for the virtual classes of eminent professors from various IIT and NITs.

Seminar Room with more than 150 capacity with multiple digital projection system and digital communicative smart interactive panel.

World class Language lab set up for the communication development of the students. 

All of Our faculties are Trained from various IIT ,IIM,NIT and IISER, where IIT Gandhinagar is our granting authority for seed grant for research projects, moreover we are under mentorship of NIT Durgapur and IIT Kharagpur.    

We have MOU with MSME (Indo-Danish tool room), Jamshedpur for better industry and enterprise oriented knowledge grow up of our students.
